Laurent was born and raised in South West France. After five years in Rouen, he obtained a diplome d'ingenieur from the INSA of Rouen and a Master Recherche from University of... Rouen. His PhD consists in using a new method of polymerization (P-ROP for Photolytic Ring-Opening Polymerization) for the synthesis of new block-copolymers unachievable by other methods.
